Kelley Smith presently serves as a Managing Member of Gator Timber and Land, LLC.  Kelley has also served in various community service positions over the years.  He served as a Putnam County Commissioner from 1976 – 1984, as a governing board member of St. Johns River Water Management District from 1985 – 1989, and as a member of the Florida House of Representatives from 1990 – 2000.  Kelley is a member of the Florida Forestry Association, where he serves as a director and past president, a member of the Clay Electric Cooperative Board of Trustees, is a founding member of Putnam State Bank and presently serves as a member of the board.  He is also a member of the Putnam Chamber of Commerce.  He earned a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Florida.
